Living the dream…
After spending 25 years dreaming of moving to the Eastern Shore, David and Erin Dorman finally had the opportunity in 2022. In David’s youth, he spent many weekends visiting his parents’ families in Caroline County, MD. Both of his parents, Paul (Fearins) Dorman and Darlene (Fishell) Meredith, were born and raised in Federalsburg, MD. Despite his parents’ efforts to dissuade David from becoming a farmer or working in the trades, it was in his blood. All he ever wanted to do was live and farm on the Eastern Shore.
Before moving to Maryland…
David earned a degree in Building Construction Technology from Penn State, and was the Lead Carpenter in a remodeling company for about 15 years. Erin also has a degree from Penn State, and worked as a Quality Manager for 11 years for two different companies. In 2007, we created Lower Forty Farm, Inc. Our business included Aquarium Services Professionals, an online store, property management, and residential/commercial remodeling projects. Together we built a successful company in Berks County, PA.
Why now…
In the early spring of 2022, we were afforded the opportunity to purchase Kenneth Meredith and Audrey Fishell’s (David’s grandparents) homestead in Federalsburg, MD. Never much for procrastinating, we sold the aquarium service business to Erin’s sister, and moved to Maryland that summer. Officially licensed, registered and insured in Maryland (MHIC# 154883) and Delaware, Lower Forty Farm, Inc. is continuing property management and residential/commercial remodeling. We appreciate and look forward to working with you on your home, business, or property projects.
